How big is the fan that you want to purchase a light kit for? Another good question. If the fan is a big sucker, say 44" - 52" blade span (or more), there's more likelihood that the fan will have a compatible light kit. Children's fans that are smaller have less chance of having a compatible kit. One thing you may want to consider is simply to purchase kits with your fan, when you purchase your fan. Often times when installing a fan, you simply need to think about how light comes into the room you're installing into. If you have lots of windows and light coming in, you won't need a light kit for this appliance. But if you are installing in a basement, garage, workshop, or other room with low light conditions, just purchase the light kit too. You don't even need to install it initially - put it away somewhere until you decide to install it.
However, before I get off the subject of what to buy, a word or two to the wise. This is not a purchase that you want to make with the idea of saving as much money as you can on these units. Manufacturers of inexpensive units have become more and more clever at making their products look great. However, a ceiling fan needs to pass the test of time and extensive use and many if not most of the cheaper units simply don't pass this test. Inexpensive fan casing is often made from thin material that may not be of the best quality.
In our years working in this field we have come to find out that many people have no idea how to install a ceiling fan. To be clear, it is not an EASY project. However, it is also not terribly difficult. You just need to take your time, follow the manufacturer's instructions and keep cool and collected. That's what we are here to help you do!
A ceiling fan can be used year round-to cool off your home in the warmer months and to circulate the warm air to keep your home livable in the winter months. Another good reason to buy a fan is to save some money on your utility bills-ceiling fans cut down a great deal on heating and cooling costs year round.
Kids ceiling fans come in many different fun and imaginative designs. The designs are usually picture on the blades and the light fixture. You can also find kids ceiling fans with different blades lengths. Most children's ceiling fans come with short wingspans but they can be found in spans up to 55". Therefore, you are sure to find the right fan for the size room the child has.
